Emblem Chapters
Pine
Bluffs FFA
Pine Bluffs teaches elementary kids each year about safety on the farm, covering
everything from electricity to elevator safety.
Through the harvest festival, which includes a kiddie carnival, lawnmower
races, a Cajun cream can dinner and a dance, Pine Bluffs raised money for
Hurricane Katrina. Local ranchers team up with Pine Bluffs for the Prospect Club
Calf Project. Students learn how to
fit and show six calves that local ranchers let the students use in the National
Western Stock Show and the
NILE
. Advisor: Donn Randall.
Shoshoni FFA
Shoshoni brings the members together through events like the Chapter SAE Visit
Day, Shoshoni Shut-In and the back-to-school barbeque.
They also contribute to the community by doing highway, farm and town
clean-ups, adopting Boysen State Park for clean-up and maintenance, and
assisting with the annual Christmas Food Drive. Advisor: Crystal Wohlecke
Thermopolis FFA
Thermopolis divides and conquers when it comes to helping out the community
through the buddy program. A chapter
officer and two or three chapter members team up and seek out community service
projects around the community. Thermopolis
FFA’s petting zoo allows daycare and elementary-age kids to get hands-on
experience with animals. Through
their work sale and Greenhouse sale, Thermopolis FFA brings quality plants and
services to the citizens of Thermopolis. By
planting their own flowers around the town, and posting Ag Support flyers at
area businesses, this brings FFA into the public view. Advisor: Britton
Van Heule.
Cheyenne
High Plains FFA
High Plains FFA strives to give all students the ability to
participate in hands-on agriculture through the School-Farm Co-op.
They also create a sense of teamwork through the chapter officers’
retreat and the summer picinic. The
High Plains chapter cares for the community by helping with the Cheyenne Cowboy
Kids’ Fest, and on a broader scale by fundraising and donating an impressive
$800 directly to the Seeds of Hope Foundation in
Louisville
,
Kentucky
at National convention. Advisor: Ty Berry.
Pinedale FFA
Pinedale FFA creates an environment for learning business and work ethics with
their Christmas tree sales, and their chapter owned-and-operated business Blue
and Gold Engraving. They contribute
to the Pinedale community through two Blood Drives with the United Blood
services, a community appreciation breakfast and Christmas Carolling.

John B. Kendrick FFA
The John B. Kendrick Chapter in Sheridan lets the community know that they care
through serving a teacher appreciation lunch, and the Gold Buckle Club Dinner,
and collecting and selling trees for the festival of trees, which goes to help
support the special Olympics. Through
their family picnic, this chapter brings chapter members and families of the
members close. They added members to
their chapter through the chapter recruitment days, and helped all in involved
grow as leaders. Advisor: Nick Siddle.
Buffalo FFA
The Buffalo FFA Chapter provides a teamwork environment through their Fun For
All, a retreat during the summer that brings younger and older members together
to get to know each other, as well as by taking the chapter bowling and skiing,
and hosting a new member barbeque. By
helping area ranchers and assisting in building a new poultry barn for the
Johnson County Fair, and by serving a faculty appreciation Dinner,
Buffalo
let the community know that they care. Advisor: Jake Evans.
Lyman FFA
The Lyman FFA Chapter is a great supporter of their community, as they host an
Alumni/Community BBQ, an Ag Expo for the youth of the area, a benefit rodeo and
BBQ for the Locals for Locals program, and volunteering to help with the IPSSDR
Sled dog race. They promote student
growth and success through morning peer tutoring sessions, and expand their
horizons with the Ohio Chapter Exchange. Advisor: Rex Hamner.
Snowy Range FFA
Snowy Range FFA supports
Laramie
by cleaning up trash around local businesses, the high school and the highway
and by planting flowers all around town. This
chapter gets the name of FFA in public view by volunteering to serve at local
dinner events for various organizations, and by helping out with the annual Ag
Expo. Members get to know each other
and have a little fun through the monthly recreation activities.
Younger members get a feel for running things the Greenhand leadership
team. Advisor: Danielle Cox.
Buffalo Bill FFA
The Buffalo Bill FFA Chapter in Cody gathered new members through their eighth
grade recruitment, and helped FFA members from around the region grow as leaders
by hosting their own Leadership Camp. By
helping the Game and Fish relocate fish, assisting disabled persons in learning
how to ride horses through the S.T.E.P.S. Program, teaching third grade students
about agriculture through the Third Grade Exposition, and by raising money for
Christmas Wish, This chapter supports the Cody community. Advisor: Troy
Wiant.
Southeast FFA
Southeast FFA helps and acknowledges the Yoder community with their Business of
the quarter program, the Goshen County Class Reunions, Goshen County Ag Expo,
and the giving tree. New members are
recruited through monthly junior high meetings.
They raise money for their chapter activities through fruit sales, and
promote member growth through participation in Career development events, county
and state fairs. Advisor: Randy Epler
